Fascia - facts and speculation
-
For those who work with body
Fascia is mysterious, fascia is the "Cinderella" of our body... Fascia this, fascia that...
Fascial manipulation, release, fascial distortions, restriction and "memory", myofascial massage, myofascial rolls and myofascial chains. In the last 25 years, the term “fascia”, worn to holes from such frequent use, is repeated again and again like a spell, and it seems that today there is no manual practitioner who is not passionate about the idea of manipulating the fascia. Posture, mobility, cellulite, cheekbones, wrinkles, constipation or "repressed emotions" ... Everywhere we look - everywhere with the fascia "something is wrong."
Books, congresses, seminars, the Internet drown us in an avalanche of information. Dozens of methods & techniques. Impacts of various strengths, strong and painful or weak, like the touch of a feather, but always claiming to be correct and unique. But why shift or stretch in this way? Why should this "work" better than the other? How does fascial manipulation work? What scientists say about fascia? What famous fascial therapists say about fascia? Where is the line beyond which a seemingly good and valuable therapeutic method turns into profanation?
Isn't it time to figure it out?
